Daffy’s Gin

Daffy’s Gin – 43.4%

This beautiful Scottish* Gin has eight botanicals: juniper, coriander seeds, cassia bark, angelica root, orange and lemon peel, orris root and – most exciting of them all – Lebanese mint! Even with 43.4% ABV, the taste is smooth and well balanced with a hint of spiced caramel flavour. The mint gives the Gin a freshness you truly enjoy when sipping Daffy’s Gin like you would malt whisky. Daffy’s is actually distilled in a similar way to malt whisky, in a single-batch copper-pot still. If you don’t fancy neat Gin, try Daffy’s G&T (or D&T if you wish), best served with a sprig of mint and a lime wedge.

Who’s the beauty on the bottle? She is in fact the Goddess of Gin, and the wife of the creator of Daffy’s Gin. The picture was painted by Robert McGinnis, the man behind the Breakfast at Tiffany’s poster with Audrey Hepburn, and several James Bond posters. Daffy was also a nickname for Gin in Dickensian times.  DaffysGin

* Daffy’s is not actually distilled in Scotland, but is still associated with Edinburgh…
