Love PINK?? Then You’ll Love a Bottle of Heather Rose Gin!!

heather-rose-copy

Heather Rose Gin is perfect for celebrations or to be enjoyed as an aperitif. It is fragrant and floral with subtle notes of rose. Seven botanicals – juniper, coriander seeds, orange and lemon peel, liquorice root, rose petals and purple heather flowers – all contribute to create a light, slightly sweet and floral yet spicy gin. A nice change from all the dry gins out there.

Due to its delicate botanicals, this Scottish gin is produced in two stages. The first stage is a vapour infusion using a pot still with a botanical basket, then during the second part, the base gin is compounded with additional botanicals. This way the gin gets its lovely mahogany colour, and it’s fuller in flavour. You can think of Heather Rose Gin as the beauty of Scottish nature captured in a bottle of gin!

But I promised you Pink, didn’t I? So onto the fun part! Due to its combination of rose petals and heather, the colour changes from mahogany to light pink when topped up with tonic or prosecco. How cool is that!?? The recommended serve is simple – one shot of Heather Rose Gin in a chilled champagne flute, topped with tonic and without ice.

Or make it Bramble – recipe Strathearn Distillery’s website.

Heather Rose Gin comes from possibly the smallest distillery in Scotland, Strathearn Distillery. The micro-distillery, based near the village of Methven in Perthshire, started production in 2013, and now they have four gins available, with their first whisky due to be ready in 27 days! All their products are hand-crafted and distilled in small batches.

This week I have teamed up with Strathearn Distillery to reward one lucky reader with a bottle of Heather Rose Gin! Competition ends 24th November 2016.
