There are many nice places to drink in Seville. Whether you fancy a glass of sherry with your tapas, a cocktail or a nightcap, there are venues for every mood. Choose between the many tapas bars, interesting cocktail bars and hotel rooftops. What I enjoyed about the city was all the outdoor seating (many with heaters) in most bars and restaurants, often with a great view or otherwise in an ideal location for people watching. These venues below are some of my favourites from my recent trip to Seville.
Cocktail Bars in Seville
Naked and Famous
Naked and Famous is a very funky cocktail bar with neon signs outside, a bright pink entrance and a dark blue seating area. Their cocktail menu consists of a wide range of signature cocktails, their take on classic serves as well as a few alcohol-free recipes. All drinks are €10–12.
It took a while to get served even though it wasn’t busy. For our second round of drinks we actually had to go and look for the staff, only to find three staff members just hanging around doing nothing. But when you did get the service, they were great at explaining the process behind each drink and, of course, the cocktails were tasty. Stunning ice too!
Try: Vanilla Ice – A take on Boulevardier. It is made with Bulleit Rye, white homemade vermouth, butter Bitter Martini and vanilla. It was my favourite of the night.

The Second Room
The Second Room is right around the corner from Naked and Famous. Their cocktail menu consists of most classic cocktails with prices around €10. The service was pretty fast and very friendly. Mojitos and Caipirinhas are on sale during the happy hours (5–6pm and 9–10pm) on Thursdays and Sundays. They have some tables outside with heaters, which was a plus. It can get quite lively there.
Try: Pisco Sour. I’m always on the lookout for some tasty well-made Pisco Sours. This was really nice and came with a beautiful edible flower garnish.

Whisky in Seville
Antigüedades Bar de Tapas
If you are looking for a place to drink whisky in Seville, you can find this tapas bar in one of the side streets not far from the cathedral. They have an incredible collection of whiskies from around the world, most of which are stored on the high shelves all around the venue. They don’t have a whisky menu to look at, but you simply walk around the venue and point out the ones you are interested in. The waiter will have a full spreadsheet on their phone with all the prices etc. I was told they have over 300 whiskies.
At first, I thought the prices were a little high, but once I saw the measures, it all made sense. They bring the heavy tumbler to the table and do the (free)pouring at the table to allow you to have a look at the bottle in more detail.
The service was friendly, and the waiter showed me some other bottles they had recently got in. Some of them had a sticker ‘no’ on the bottom to indicate the owner is not willing to share the whisky with anyone. Quite funny!

As the venue is also a proper tapas bar, I ordered some salami and baked goat’s cheese with pepper jam and basil oil to pair with the whisky. Both were absolutely delicious. We had actually eaten here before, which is when I discovered all the whisky. Be warned the main portion sizes are fairly large so don’t over-order (like I did). Their garlic and chilli prawns were one of my favourite dishes.
The décor is great, with black-and-white photographs, exposed brick walls, roman pillars and neon light. Like with many other tapas bars in Seville, this one has plenty of outdoor seating, and the heaters keep you warm in winter.
Try: Any whisky that catches your eye! Don’t be afraid to ask for the prices before ordering!

Rooftop Bar in Seville
El Mirador de Querencia
Seville is not short of rooftop bars. Some are more expensive than others (although overall they are cheaper than in most cities) and in some the service was absolutely appalling. But the winner for me was the large roof terrace of the hotel Querencia de Sevilla, which is part of the Autograph Collection.
The hotel is in the corner of Plaza de San Francisco, right by the tram line. The doorman will guide you to the lift that takes you to the roof. The terrace is huge, with 360-degree views of the city. They have plenty of seating, and when we visited on a Saturday night, it wasn’t super-busy, so it was easy to get a good seat and quick service. The seating is well spread so everyone can enjoy the views, and they had heaters and thick blankets to keep us warm. I also liked the music there. I was hoping to go back to see the sunset but unfortunately ran out of time.
Try: Dry Martini – it hit the spot and was stirred to perfection. Although I’m confident other drinks will be equally enjoyable.

Terrace Bar in Sevilla
I would like to give a special mention to El Pantalán de Río Grande, which is a stunning terrace right by the Guadalquivir River. It is decorated with natural material finishes, bamboo floors, cosy seating and plenty of green plants. Their cocktail menu looks great, with drinks such as Old Jerez (Chivas Mizunara whisky, Palo Cortado, cherries & orange cordial) and Nido de Tulum (Mezcal 400 Conejos, white chocolate, mint, pepper & orange jelly). Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance to try any cocktails as the venue opens at 5pm and I was nearby at lunchtime.
I enjoyed the similar décor and location of their outdoor restaurant, El Balcón de Río Grande, where we had a nice fish lunch and some great wine whilst basking in the warm February sun. Which makes me think their bar would also be up to similar standards. If you fancy eating at the restaurant, I recommend booking online. El Pantalán de Río Grande doesn’t take bookings, however.
