1 New York Sour
50ml Rye whiskey or bourbon
20ml Lemon juice
25ml Sugar syrup
25ml Red wine
1 Egg white (optional)
Shake all but wine in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain over ice filled tumbler and carefully pour the red wine over the back of the spoon so it floats at the top. Hope your layering skills are better than mine!

2 Scottish Raspberry
50ml Blended Scotch
30ml Raspberry liqueur
20ml Lime juice
Ginger Ale
Raspberries for garnish
Shake all but ginger ale in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain over ice and top up with ginger ale. Garnish with raspberries.

3 Old Fashioned
There are a few ways to make an Old Fashioned, but you only really need whiskey, sugar, bitters and an orange twist for garnish. Read more about the history and alternative ways to make it from my previous blog post.
50ml Bourbon
5-10ml Brown sugar syrup
4 Dashes of Angostura bitters
Simply combine all the ingredients directly into the Old-Fashioned glass, stir with ice and add a few extra cubes during stirring. Garnish with an orange or lemon twist.

4 Smoky Celtic Margarita
35ml Blended Scotch
20ml Cointreau
20ml Arbikie Smoky Chilli Vodka
15ml Fresh lemon juice
10ml Fresh lime juice
Salt rim optional
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into an ice filled tumbler. Garnish with a lemon twist.
Tip: You could replace Arbikie with peated whisky and touch of Ancho Reyes Chile liqueur, if available.

5 Water of Life
This simple whisky cocktail recipe is one of my favourites for a lazy day.
40ml Lindores Abbey Aqua Vitae
20ml Blended Scotch
20ml Honey syrup
Stir all ingredients with ice and strain over a large ice cube. You can more about Lindores Abbey and their aqua vitae here.

6 Boulevardier
Originally equal measures of Bourbon, Campari and sweet vermouth, Boulevardier is basically Negroni made with Bourbon. Today the amount of Bourbon is slightly increased. If you consider yourself a Negroni lover, you should try this whisky cocktail.
40ml Bourbon
25ml Sweet vermouth
25ml Campari
Stir all ingredients with ice and strain into ice filled tumbler or serve without ice in a coupe glass. Garnish with an orange twist.
